Welcome to early years at bluebell meadow
At Bluebell Meadow Primary we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where children can grow, develop, and learn through a carefully designed curriculum which is tailored to the needs and interests of the children.
We follow the ‘Development Matters’ guidance to plan a well-rounded Early Years curriculum, covering the areas of Personal Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Communication and Language, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.
We believe that children learn best through playing and exploring, being active, and through creative and critical thinking which takes place both indoors and outside. We work on our number and literacy skills through maths and phonics lessons, as well as incorporating these skills into different play-based activities. We also love to read and share stories daily.
We use Class Dojo to share a weekly overview and pictures of the learning that has taken place in Early Years and a class learning journey is shared at the end of each half term. We really value your input and encourage you to upload any experiences or home learning to you child's portfolio.
At Bluebell Meadow we have three EYFS classes:
- Little Buds (2-3 year olds)
- Nursery (3-4 year olds)
- Reception (4-5 year olds)
